Deciding between a timber base or a foundation kit for your metal shed? Understand the capabilities and purpose of each. All shed bases should be planted on leveled ground with a damp-proof membrane. For a wooden floor, a timber base allows you to assemble it on leveled ground above a damp-proof membrane and connect the shed. This is a simple, affordable base solution. A foundation kit creates a steel grid over the damp-proof membrane and can be filled with concrete or covered with marine ply to construct an internal floor. Should you already have a concrete or slab base with a damp-proof membrane, you won't need either option.
