Summerhouses
A summerhouse is a wonderful place to relax in the summer months, with all the family. It's easy to make and costs very little money.
Summerhouses are perfect for relaxing on a hot summer's day. They can be made of wood, brick or stone and come in all shapes and sizes. Some have porches or decks attached to them so you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air.
You can use shingles or clay tiles for your roof covering. Both are popular choices in the UK, but clay tiles are more common in Europe.
Shingles are cheaper than clay tiles, but they don't last as long and need to be replaced more often.
Clay tiles tend to be heavier than shingles, so if you're building a summerhouse with an upper floor that's accessed by ladder or stairs (rather than a ramp), this may be something to consider when choosing between materials for your roof covering.
